Long term food storage

A Week of Meals from the Shelf

A pantry week is dull on purpose. Rice and beans. Oats. Pasta. A can of fish or tomatoes if you have it. You can cook that on a stove, a camp burner, or one pot. The point is a week you can eat, not a new recipe every night.

Seven simple shelf meals: rice, beans, oats, pasta
Seven bowls. Four ingredients.

The rotation

Oats in the morning. Rice and beans at night. Pasta on the night you are tired. Swap in canned fish twice if you keep it. Salt is the seasoning. Honey is the sweet thing. That is the week.

Water and heat

Dry food needs water to cook. If the tap is off, the shelf does not save the day by itself. If the stove is electric and the power is out, you need another way to boil. Those are the limits. The food is the easy part.

Shelf food still needs water and a way to boil
The shelf is half the meal. Water and heat are the other half.

Who this is not for

Skip this if you need a medical diet. This is a plain household week from staples.

Collect water from air is a different job, if the tap is the problem.
